[NEWS] Kim Junsu: “We Feel A Greater Sense of Responsibility Than Pride”

JYJ’s Kim Junsu has revealed his thoughts on JYJ’s European tour.

With the group’s Berlin performance only a day away, Kim Junsu partook in a phone conversation with YTN TV’s ‘Newswide’ on the 5th and when asked, “Why did you pick Spain and Germany for the locations of your European tour?”, he replied, “It was more of a geographical reason than anything else.”

He said, “We thought of our fans and decided that Spain was the center of Western Spain while Germany was the best place for our Eastern and Northern European fans to gather,” and “We decided to go on a tour in Europe because we thought that in many ways, it would be meaningful to take the first step towards places that K-pop hasn’t reached yet.”

Kim Junsu continued to add, “These are countries in Europe that we’ve never been to before. We were really worried about the fact that we were going to be holding concerts in countries that we had never been to before. But seeing all the fans who came and cheered for us made us think that we need to make more opportunities to meet with our European fans in the future.

When asked, “Don’t you feel proud of the fact that you will be the first Korean singers to hold a solo concert there?” Kim Junsu replied, “We do feel proud, but we feel an even greater sense of responsibility so we have a lot of thoughts running through our heads,” and “Whatever decision we make, we think about whether something will benefit us, or if it will cause damage on our country. But we think that there’s nothing better than being able to showcase a stage that is unique to JYJ, and to let the world know of Korea’s culture.”
