[NEWS] JYJ Holds A Successful Concert In Chile
JYJ’s concert in Chile was a huge success.
JYJ held their independent concert at the Teatro Caupolican in Santiago, Chile on 9 March (local time), driving the audience of 3000 wild.
Despite the sudden flight delays and jet lag caused by the long flights, JYJ showcased a passionate stage with no hint of tiredness. This day’s concert was JYJ’s first independent concert in South America, and also the first in history for any Korean artist. In response to this, the local mainstream media reported widely on JYJ’s arrival and the concert for many days, and welcomed the visit of the Hallyu stars.
The fans passion made “the continent of passion”, South America, seem even hotter. Some fans began camping in front of the concert venue in wait since a day before, as they were determined to secure good seats. They could not hide their excitement before the concert and were seen cheering things such as “JYJ” and “I love you”.
The members went up on stage to the passionate cheers of the fans, and opened their South American concert with “Empty”, the title track from their worldwide album. The members then went on to perform “Pierrot”, “Ayyy Girl” and “Be My Girl”, thrilling the audience with powerful performances featuring a combination of dance moves including waving and popping.
JYJ’s thrilling choreography and compelling voices, coupled with the fans endless cheers, heated up the venue completely. During the concert, Jaejoong said, “I am really very happy to be able to meet everyone in Chile. For the long time that everyone has had to wait for us, we want to create the best stage together with you.” JYJ’s popularity could be seen on this day from how the local fans in Chile, not only those in Asia and Europe, sang along with the songs that were recorded in JYJ’s albums. Fans also shouted “Saranghaeyo JYJ (We love you JYJ)” in Korean, and many placards had Korean words written on them.
Furthermore, not only fans from Chile (were at the concert that day). Many fans from all over South America, including Brazil, Argentina, Bolivia and Venezuela, also rushed to attend the concert. They held up flags of their own countries and chanted JYJ’s names. It seems that following the K-pop boom which recently began in Europe, K-pop fans also gathered in South America, with Chile as the base.
